Marysville
Walkable Community Plan In 2002 the City of Marysville adopted the Walkable Community Plan. The plan is a comprehensive synthesis of plans for sidewalks, bike paths and recreation trails. In 1997 the City first developed a Pedestrian Network Master Plan, which included prioritized recommendations for expansion of the city's sidewalk network. The city has since pursued fulfillment of their recommendations, greatly enhancing the ability of its residents to get from place to place without the use of motorized vehicles. |

South
Lyon Parks & Recreation Master Plan This recreation plan evaluated the recreational needs of the city residents for mini-parks, neighborhood parks and community parks and prescribed a plan that accommodated and fulfilled those needs. The purpose of this plan was to inventory existing recreational opportunities and facilities available to city residents, identify problems and future needs and establish a parks and recreation plan to address those needs in a programmed systematic manner. Development plans for various parks sites were prepared for newly acquired park sites and for two-mile trail on a former railroad track in the city. The rail/trail is part of a larger system connecting at both the west and north edges of the city to a regional trail system. |

St.
Clair Riverfront Vilican Leman implemented a downtown renewal program for the City of St. Clair on the St. Clair riverfront connecting Lake Huron with Lake St. Clair. The project included removal and relocation of business buildings bordering the river to provide a ¼ mile long park and boardwalk on the river. An area across form the park was cleared and has been re-developed as a business center. The nature park provides a large tree shaded expanse of lawn, a heavily utilized boardwalk with seating areas for viewing seaway ships which pass within a few yards of the shoreline, and attractive flower beds and lighting along the river. |
